An ELCA Church serving the Augusta, Georgia area

The Joy of Christmas Giving

You can select a gift, like a calf or a sheep for Christmas to help villages around the world.

The entrance to Reiser Hall is starting to look a lot like Christmas. There are boxes and sacks of food, the Mitten Tree, the Coat Barrel and the Christmas Tree adorned with Gift Tags to help people around the world. The deadline for delivering food packages was Sunday, December 4th but if you hurry you can still get them down here as they have not been picked up yet. (Hurry–you might want to call the office first).

Here are just a few of the Christmas collections we are holding this year.

1. ELCA Good Gifts: There are tags on the tree in the entrance of Reiser Hall for items that can be purchased (via a donation) for the needy in foreign countries. You can donate money to purchase a cow, lamb, water containers and much more.
*2. Food donations: You can find tags on the tree with a list of food items to be purchased and bagged to feed the hungry in our community.
3. Mitten Tree: There is our traditional mitten tree where we place mittens, gloves, scarves adn hats to be distributed through the soup kitch and the Salvation Army.
4. Coat Barrel: The Coat Barrel is back to collect gently used coats, jackets and heavy sweaters for those who need warm clothing.
