To say that Easter is happening here. As I write, we are in the midst of our Lenten Season, our midweek services, and Holy Week (healing, first communion, the somber, moving Tenebrae) and the joyful Easter celebration are just ahead.

The signs of Easter, of new life, abound – warmer weather, the waking of beautiful spring flowers, and the “greening” of everything – the changing of the season is all around.

This Sunday we will welcome Rev. Terri and Bob Landers. Pastor Terri will be installed as our Associate Pastor. I am excited for the future ministry possibilities of our Resurrection family together for God and for good. Easter is surely happening here.

The Church Council has wholeheartedly decided to move forward with the Congregational Vitality Process. Briefly, this promising process is the result of a four year study of mainline churches. It is about prayer and bible study; it is about faith sharing focused on relationship; it is about listening – listening to God, to one another, and to the community; it is about love – love of God, love of church, and love of others; it is about our future ministry together Easter is happening here.

New Reiser Hall is moving forward. The footings have been poured and it looks like they’re ready to pour the slab. The hot question is, “When will it be finished?” I do not know nor will I speculate. However some dry weather and less rain would help (so when you’re saying your prayers….). New Reiser Hall is on the move. Easter is happening here.

Please keep us in your prayers and remember that I love you. Christ is Risen. He is Risen, indeed. Christ is Alive!

Your pastor and friend,
David B. Hunter

Thought of the Month

How deep is the mud? Depends on who you ask. We all go through the same stuff differently.

Easter Egg Hunt and Cookout-April 6

We are holding it a bit earlier this year due to the golf tournament. Our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Cookout will be held Saturday, April 6, at 11AM. It will be held again at Michael Spray’s house in North Augusta. Contact the office for the address and/or directions. Don’t forget to bring something to sit on (chairs, blanket) and a side dish or dessert to share.

We need your help with the Easter Egg Hunt

We are collecting large plastic eggs and small individually wrapped candy to fill the eggs for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Donations can be dropped in the basket located outside the workroom or left in the church office.
