Resurrection Church held a Red Door Cafe Chili Cookoff and Talent Show, Saturday, January 27th, 2018. Approximately 20 participants brought huge pots of chili to compete for the coveted Wood Chili Spoon. That honor went to Barbara Green who was busy not only accepting the prize but served as the Emcee for the Talent Show … as well as being in one of the acts.

Luckily only one set of judges were tasked with picking winners, that of the chili contest. Picking the winner of the talent show would have been much more difficult. More than 80 people attended the festivities.

The church’s youth served as waiters for the evening, bringing hors d’oeuvres, desserts and drinks to their assigned tables. With more than 20 chilis to choose from people got to walk through and choose what they wanted to try. There was spicy, dark, white, healthy, wild turkey, vegan, mild… you name it there was a chili for everyone. Money raised from the Red Door Cafe will help send the youth group to Houston this summer.
