Imposition of ashes will be at the 12:10 and 7pm services

Our Lenten Journey  began with Ash Wednesday services on March 5th, 2014, with services at 12:10pm and 7pm. Each week, with the exception of Masters Week, there will be a 12:10 and 6:45pm services. Masters week  (April  9) there will only be the 12:10 service. (No Wednesday night supper or other activities as well).

Each week we will post the audio sermon from the services so please come back to hear Pastor Hunter’s message.

Starting with the Ash Wednesday service a box of stones will be placed near the entrance. You are asked to take one of the stones and at the end of the service you should decide whether to keep the stone with you to remind you of your sins and your struggles that you face or leave in a basket at the foot of the cross, leaving your burdens with Jesus. Our stones. Do we keep them or give them to Jesus?

Our stones. Do we keep them or give them to Jesus?

Pastor Hunter wrote in this month’s newsletter. “This year our Lenten Services will be a journey – a journey of stones. The stones will lead us on a prayerful journey of repentance and celebration of grace and promise of life.
At each step in the journey we will receive a stone which represents those things which separate us from CHrist. ALong the way, we will confess our sins, be honest with ourselves, eat break and drink wine, and stand together at the foot of th cross – layout our stones (and our sins) at the feet of our Savior and travel to the joys our invitation and promise of the Resurrection – that we re alive and free in Christ.

And this year we will really journey together – that is , at both our mid day and evening worship services. The schedule for our journey of stones [is below]. THe addition, we will have one traditional Service of the Word for Healing on Wednesday of Holy Week.
